Orange County Virginia is feeling the effects of Wal-Mart's big business enterprise on a historic battlefield. Wilderness Battefield is where Grant and Lee first met in battle almost 150 years ago. Wal-Mart's plan is to build on the grounds of the battlefield according to historians. No matter how many opponents were at the meeting the Orange County Board of Supervisors voted 4-1 to approve the permit for the retailer. Has the sense of integrity of our country and the battles fought on American soil gone out the window? It seems the consumer need for the discount prices has won over pride for our country.

With football camp over for Marshall players the question everyone wants the answer to is "Has the offense improved?". Landon of the Herald-Dispatch says "so far so good". With two weeks left to keep working on their offense I wish the players and coaches good luck. Marshall fans will be ready and waiting to see if that hard work paid off when the first game of the season rolls around.

I agree with your position on this subject because I think it is very ridiculous that such a huge chain store like Wal-Mart is trying to build on what is a historic landmark. If this happens there then that means we may as well just knock down some old historic buildings and let Wal-Mart plant their cheap prices over what our history is. Nothing like Wal-Mart coming in to destroy more of Americas integrity.
